WOMAN DOWN! 10th FLOOR STAT!

I had a near death experience this morning at work. Let's just start off by saying that I didn't want to be there today anyways...I never get snow days! (sigh) Ok, moving on. So I enter the bathroom and was pleasantly surprised to find that the cleaning crew just came through! YAY! So everything was clean, shiny, sparkly, and smelling of Lysol. So I go into the stall. I hold on to the top of the door to swing it shut and before I realize it the door swings into my face, forcing me to slip on the wet floor (it had just been mopped) and throwing me back in an awkward position between the floor and toilet. How could this possibly happen you ask? Well, #1- the door was one of those crazy ones without the stopper so it swings both ways, so the more pressure you put on it, the faster and more forceful it goes in that direction. #2- The wet floor definitely played a major role, I couldn't get good footing. #3- I was distracted by the cleanliness of the bathroom, wasn't paying enough attention. I was launched back (from the door), and down (because I was slipping) and the middle of my back made contact with the toilet as by butt hit the ground, hard. It took my about 30 seconds to fully understand what just happened and to gather myself back together. I seriously could have, or maybe are, hurt. My breathing has been a bit challenged and I'm gonna have some bruises for sure, and am pretty sure I have minor whip lash. I'm just so thankful that no one was in the bathroom, and THANK GOODNESS that toilet and floor was just cleaned, or we might have a whole other issue on our hands! Ta-Da.....Silver Lining:)

The Rekindling of Love

So do you have those moments where something that you used to love and cherish so much, and received so much joy from, and maybe temporarily got left behind (non intentional of course) suddenly comes rushing back into your life?

I know what you are thinking, this is about to turn into a deep, sappy, mushy-gushy love story. And you'd be right. Except not the kind that you might think. Write this date down, January 26, 2011, I have officially started my relationship with the Cold War Kids again! I downloaded their new album Mine Is Yours and have not been able to stop listening to it. I suggest all, before you continue to read this, either run to your nearest Target, Best Buy, Borders, Amazon.com, iTunes...whatever your means to getting music is, and if nothing else at least give it a listen, to truly appreciate my relationship with them. I'll wait...

OK, your back? Now most of us I'm sure have felt the way that Hang Me Up to Dry describes, whether you were the "teaser" or the "teasee". With its oh so smooth and creamy riff, and the way Nathan's voice at the most pivotal points is just almost a scream. How could you NOT get this song stuck in your head? Hospital Beds was one of their better songs from their debut. Then there was Something Is Not Right With Me, need I say more? I feel this song. It. Speaks. To. Me. 'nuff said. And then there was Audience, which tells you that it's up you to make yourself happy, " close your eyes, put your finger on the globe, spin it round and where it stops you got to pack your bags and go." It's a good motto for life.

Now, they have a new album. The first song is Mine Is Yours, and your hooked. And then by the second song, Finally Begin, your in love. With a line like "I've got a black belt in doubt, I get claustrophobic with all these open doors", how can you not get lost in a moment that will last 3 minutes and 42 seconds? Then it continues with Louder Than Ever, which solidifies that Cold War Kids are better than ever! Skip The Charades is quite possibly one of the best songs I have ever heard. The lyrics are in a word-phenomenal. Sensitive Kid, Broken Open and Royal Blue are also equally brilliant.

I'm so sorry Cold War Kids for letting such a big amount of time lapse between "meet ups" with you. Kudos to you, because with your latest masterpiece I promise to be lost in your world, and go for long swims in your effortless melodies, and bask in the rays of your honest and beautiful lyrics for a long time to come......

What Is In a Name?

Hello Internet!

So I have decided that the world is in MUCH need of my thoughts being available for all to know with the single click of a mouse. I know, I know...where have I been this whole time? Let's just say I've been dominating the underground world of professional soft shoe dancing. But alas, it has come time for me to surface and share what is on my mind grapes with the maybe 6 people that will read this blog (4 of them will be by force...you know who you are and you've been warned!)

But, wouldn't you just know it that I have been blogging now for maybe a total of 12 minutes and 45 seconds...(give or take a few)..and I've already hit a wall! DUN-DUN-DUUNNNN!! So I need a favor, here it goes...

Magic Mirror on the wall, what's the fairest blog name of them all? Oh what shall I call this dearest creation of mine? What will make it sound divine? If you would be so kind, to drop a line, if you find one that can become all mine?
